The situation of the hotel was gorgeous - set high on a hill on the boarder of the Empty Quarter. the rooms were very pleasant with lovely spacious balconies with views of either the desert or the sunset. The pool was the main feature of this hotel. Beautifully maintained and sparkling clean. It was gorgeous to swim in and sit/relax in the garden that surrounds the pool. The design of the hotel is unique.
I was very disappointed with the fact the hotel did not have a liquor licence and didn't inform me about that when I booked. There was also no mini bar at all in the room - so there were no snacks or fruit juice available. We could also not get any hot water and when we enquired about it, they said it was not their problem but the distance of the piping to the hot water connection. We kept the hot water running for 20min - no change.
A low-key but very comfortable base from which to explore the Liwa Oasis. The rooms are particularly pleasant with high ceilings, plenty of space and a great patio/balcony.
Slightly run down feeling and the fact that both Booked.net and the check-in staff neglected to mention that it does not currently have a licence to sell or serve alcohol.
The hotel is well situated and the rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are recently renovated. Nice swimming pool.
The hotel is expensive for what it offers. Then again, not that many choices around. Sauna a little bit rundown. No alcohol (as of May 2010) and very limited dining facilities. Breakfast was average and overpriced (14 euros for a breakfast with industrial orange juice is expensive)
Lovely large rooms and deep, usable balconies. A very good 3 star hotel. Staff extremely pleasant. At the rate we paid (696dhs p/n) it was good value for money.
Staying on the end of one of the wings the hot water takes almost 10 minutes to come through - a huge waste of water.
I liked the view of the Empty Quarter
It was very expensive and rather run down.
Orange juice on ceck in
The restaurant desparatety needs a Maitre D There seems to me no supervisor and staff seem to be alloacted to specific tables and ignore you if not allocated. It takes 20 minutes before they take your order because your one server goes to Abu Dhabi to bring your (soft ) drinks
This hotel is very close to the Moreeb Dune. The road to Moreeb gets you right into the desert - even without a 4x4.
The hotel is located in a great location to get out an explore the Liwa dunes. On the grounds are tennis courts, volleyball courts, and a playground, so it is family friendly.
The menu looked good to begin with, however each time the food arrived, we were somewhat disappointed. Please note this is a dry hotel and it does not serve alcohol.
rooms were great and very clean
MOst of the hotel rooms are road facing , the main desert view is pool .I feel room shaould have been desrt facing.
Great location, a short drive from the Empty Quarter. Nice large rooms, pleasent staff.
The pool was a bit cool (February).
Easy access (own car required) to the stunning desert of the "Empty Quarter".
Poor quality restaurant where the other diners were "oilmen" wearing shorts and baseball caps.
Driving in the Southern Abu Dhabian desert.
Not possible to get a glass of beer or other alcoholic bewerages.
The proximity to the Liwa sand dunes is excellent but you will need to drive there. There are too many cables and power lines by the hotel which spoil the views.
Food not so good and the pool could do with some shade for children.
My son loved the kiddies play area and I thought the surroundings were beautiful
The views were wonderful, and the hotel is very accessible to a ride into the dunes.
There was a mix-up about my reservation; somehow, it was under a different name. They kept us waiting while they "checked" on it, and they acted really suspicious of us. Then, at check-out, we were kept waiting a very long time as another family was arguing with reception about a mix-up with their reservation, and reception totally ignored us. We stood there about 20 minutes before we were even acknowledged.
